How to Create Additional Security on Instagram with Google Authenticator. Assalamualaikum, hello every body. Data security is very important to protect. Most people consider long and complicated passwords to represent good security. that's not true, because hackers don't enter by guessing your username and password. Maybe they are spamming, and when you open it, you are interested in filling out your important data or they are injecting it into a database, or they are using certain techniques to steal your data.

Because data security is very important, in this tutorial i will share tips & trick to be more secure using instagram. Hre's how to add security to your instagram account with google authenticator.

google authenticator is a software based authenticator that implements two step verification services using the time based one time password algorithm (TOTP) and HMAC-based one time password algorithm (HOTP) for authenticating users of mobile applications by google

So the point is, we will add one step after we successfully login to our instagram account, then instagram will ask to enter a number, this number is generated by google authenticator every 30 seconds.

How to use google authenticator on instagram

• 1. Download the authenticator application on android, then install the application as usual
• 2. Then log-in to your instagram account, open settings > security > select 2 factor authentication

• 3.Then switch on the authentication application > click the next button > and you will be directed to the google authenticator application with a popup, then press ok.

• 4. Long press on the picture marked with a red box, its function is to copy the number inside. Note : every 30 seconds the number will change. So we have to be fast to move it.
• 5. After copying, enter back to instagram. You will be asked to enter 6 digit code generated by the authentication application. Just long press to paste the code. Then click next.

At this point, you have succesfully applied 2 step authentication to instagram account. next, every time we log in from the instagram, instagram will verfy 2 steps. Login as usual and enter the authenticator number.

Important thing

• First : Instagram will also provide an account recovery code. This code can be used when the smartphone is lost or the smartphone is not with us. Save the code in safe place and the code can only be used once.

• Second :  The second thing that is important to understand, when you delete authentication in the google authenticator app, instagram still ask to you to enter a 5 digit code. Make sure you have saved the code given by instagram for recovery account or deactivate first verfy 2 factor in the instagram settings then delete the authentication on google authenticator.
